Vikram Solar was established in 2006 as a part of Vikram Group and has already become an international brand that is synonymous with quality and performance within just 11 years. The company has more than 700 MW (commissioned + under execution) EPC projects and more than 170 rooftop projects in its portfolio. We have enhanced our annual rated capacity from 500 MW to 1 GW in 2017. And produced 2 million modules till now. We gave India its first floating solar plant. Commissioned airport installation in Calicut, Kolkata, Kochi. Invested more than INR 70 million in investment for R&D and certification of modules.

As a major player in the green energy sector, we understood the need for quicker solar energy adoption within grids to phase our fossil fuel usage. To act our part in supporting and speeding up the solarisation process, we focused on innovation.
We have collaborated with tech leaders like Teamtechnik, Finnwind, to constantly develop solar technology for improved energy yield. And our new product introduction to the market, ‘SOMERA’ Mono-Crystalline modules is a testament to our resolve and consistent effort in revolutionizing solar energy growth.
SOMERA works with 1500V System voltage and features Passivated Emitter Rear Contact Technology (PERC) cells. As we have explained, the aim was to create and use new and better solar technology to increase the energy generation capacity of the modules. Therefore, we have used PERC cells that offer higher energy generation efficiency.
Our new Mono-Crystalline module line ‘SOMERA’ has ascended our module capacity from 17% to 19%.
SOMERA works with 1500V System voltage. It also has MC4 compatibility, extremely Low Light-Induced Degradation, and having Passivated Emitter Rear Contact Technology (PERC) cells, drastically enhances the energy harvesting efficiency offering highest efficiency (up to 19.05% (for 60 cells) & up to 18.45% (for 72 cells).
The new line of modules is also designed and tested to be very durable as to increase its longevity with performance capacity. And as a result, SOMERA can withstand 2400Pascal Wind load, 5400Pascal Snow load and Dynamic Wind load.
SOMERA is designed in 72 cell and 60 cell module specification with the 72 cell models ranging from 340 to 365Wp capacity and 60 cell modules ranging from 280-310Wp capacity.
We have used Mono-crystalline cells instead of our staple polycrystalline cell usage. And equipped the SOMERA module line with technology to deliver better energy yield, consistent performance, and longevity than industry average modules.
Standard tests have revealed that ‘SOMERA’ line can offer 10% higher energy generation output than that of any industry average polycrystalline modules.
Targeted Customer Segment
As the new monocrystalline modules are conditioned to withstand 2400Pascal Wind load, 5400Pascal Snow load and Dynamic Wind load, it makes them the best option for all geographical locations.
Our SOMERA Grand Series (72 cell modules ranging from 340 to 365Wp) and SOMERA Prime Series (60 cell modules ranging from 280-310Wp) is for the Indian market.
