Roof top solar power plant installed at Chennai International airport

A new 1.5 MW roof top solar power plant was installed at the integrated international cargo complex of the Chennai International airport and it has become operational and started generating power.

It would contribute to 20 per cent of the current power requirement of the cargo terminal.

The solar power plant was installed by Relyon Solar Private limited. Such initiative by the Airport Authority of India will help in reducing pollution and the solar plant was installed in Chennai airport as part of the Centre's initiative to solarise all airports in the country.
