Delta is the leading supplier of string inverters in India for rooftop applications. With a great pride, I can say Delta has the widest portfolio of string and central inverters from 3kW to 3MW catering to the market needs of residential, commercial and large scale utility power plants.
With the state of art design topologies, and wide installation base of 1000+ MW spread across India; our customers are reaping the benefits over their investments in terms of higher uptime and accelerated ROI.
Today, Delta is leading with 37% of Indian market share in the Rooftop Segment.
2) What are the different products and services you offer in the Indian market?
At Delta, we believe that technology and collaboration can lead to a cleaner and greener tomorrow.
We are the market leaders in Residential, Commercial and Utility Scale (Indoor and Outdoor) PV inverters. Delta solar inverter major installations includes key metro stations, airports, government offices, educational institutions, industrial establishments, residential properties, large solar plants etc. And a total of 1+ GW installations pan India.
Further up keeping the “Make in India” initiative launched by the Government of India to enhance the multi-national industries to manufacture their products in India, Delta has structured a manufacturing unit at Hosur, Tamil Nadu. Currently Delta’s utility scale inverters are being manufactured at this factory with a current production capacity of 200MW/Month (Ok).
Delta’s state-of-the-art Renewable Power Inverters’ portfolio includes grid tied transformer-less topology catering customers with residential, commercial and utility scale inverter requirements. This comprises of solar inverters for Residential Scale - 3kW, 5kW and 6kW; Commercial scale - 10kW, 15kW, 20kW, 30kW, 50kW and 66kW; Hybrid Inverters- 5KVA and 30KVA. The Utility Scale of inverters are developed for Indoor- 1MW, 2MW and 4MW solutions and the Outdoor range begins from 88kW (string inverter), 1MW, 2.5MW and 3MW. Delta inverters are multifaceted and can be used in every system size as well as are compatible with all commercially available solar modules and BoS.
3) Being a leading manufacturer in the global PV inverter industry what makes your product offering different from others?
Delta is devoted to innovation and systematically developing new products and technologies, particularly those that are high-efficiency and energy-saving. Aiming to reduce global warming and ensure mankind's sustainable future with better value and performance, Delta is continuously enhancing its engineering capabilities and is committed to developing innovative technologies and solutions for a better tomorrow.
Delta has a strong and time tested service and support network spread across India. Be it commissioning support or troubleshooting; you will always find a Delta’s trained engineer in the vicinity for quicker support. We also stock the service spares in 21 locations across India for expediting the support.
4) What have been the latest technology trends in solar inverter market globally & in India?
The year 2017 has been great for global solar PV industry in terms of installations. India’s soaring solar market has still very much up for grabs during the current and the coming years. We believe a slight contraction is on the cards for 2018, the opportunities for inverter suppliers to ship in big numbers remain vast. The grid support function like LVRT has made its way from a requirement to a compliance along with SVG functionality.
The modular design is making central solutions attractive along with its outdoor rating which eliminates the need of control room structure. Considering the increase in environmental ambient temperatures, the customers has high expectations in grabbing the inverters which will deliver the rated output power even at ambient temperatures of 55oC.
In 2018 we expect that 50% of all central solutions shipped to be 1,500 V and 1500VDC is here to stay.
Keeping its commitment on delivering innovative products, Delta has up with 1500VDC string as well as central inverters.
5) A brief on your growth in the past year and some milestones you wish to achieve this year.
Being India’s No.1 in the Rooftop Segment with 37% of the market share, we captured in major airports, key metro and railway stations, Government offices, public sectors and many more, with over 1000+MW of string and central grid-tied solar inverters already installed in India.
We are also happy to share that we have quite a few installations for both Rooftop and Ground Mount installations beyond 7 years in India, which have already completed the warranty period but we continue to render necessary support to our customers as and when required. Also, these customer still continue to buy all their Inverters for current projects and this is important for any organization to measure their success in business.
Delta has deployed its trained and experienced Service engineers and service inventory points in almost every state and has the Service reach across India. Delta has also strengthened its Pan India Support Network by setting up a Technical Call Centre for Online Customer Support activities. This has been welcomed by all the customers and their site management teams who require quick on line consultation on their field related queries and issues. We can say with confidence that Delta is the only Inverter Brand in India that has a Pan-India after sales service set up and support infrastructure to assist its customers to enjoy the benefit of Delta products for the design life and beyond.
6) What have been the latest trends in demand for Solar Inverter market in India? Where do you see the next demand growth coming from?
The 93GW goal by 2022 has developed a resolution in Indian Solar industry. Government is taking ample steps create the investor’s interest by increasing energy petition and developing worldwide acceptance towards solar energy these are the great opportunities for the Indian Solar industries to rapidly propagate.
Currently we stand at the 1st position for Rooftop Inverters according to Bridge to India annual report.
We are investing 500 Million USD at our proposed manufacturing setup and in Bangalore R&D lab. In today’s highly competitive PV business where uptime is critical and productivity is of prime importance Solar Inverters or Power Conditioning Units, being the heart of PV system, play a critical role. The inverter market is extremely fluid with ongoing innovations in technology, design and functionality raising efficiency and lowering costs.
Being a world leader in Power conversion technology, Delta offers a complete product range of solar inverters, accessories and services to our partners and installers and the best photovoltaic systems to maximize profit. With over 900MW of string and central grid-tied solar inverters already installed in India. The new Renewable Power Inverters (RPI) will provide wide range of frequency and voltage tolerances, single and dual Maximum Power Point Tracking topologies with higher efficiencies coupled with competitive pricing.
Delta is continuously enhancing our engineering capabilities and is committed to developing innovative technologies and solutions for a better tomorrow.
