For the past few days people from across the solar industry were gathering at Intersolar Europe. Global solar markets have ups and downs, but this year the world’s leading annual solar exhibition are filled with optimism. Speaking at European Solar Development Seminar organized by Growatt, IHS Markit Senior Analyst Susanne von Aichberger said, “From our research and analysis, we believe European solar installations are on the rise. This is good news for the industry.”

Overall, European Union is set to reach EU-wide renewable energy target though some member states fail to reach their own 2020 targets according to Susanne. Encouraged by the solid growth of European solar markets, Growatt has been increasing its investments in the region, hiring more staff and establishing branch office in Rotterdam recently.

At the seminar Growatt Co-founder and Sales Director Frank Qiao unveiled a couple of its next generation PV solutions to the audience. Its latest product developments, MIN 2.5-6k TL-XH and MAX 50-80kTL3 impress the audience a lot. “At first glance, you’ll find our new generation product models have got appealing designs. But that’s not all. Their powerful functions will make them more attractive”, said Qiao.

“MIN has OLED display and touch button and customers will have a better user experience. Its touch button has a longer lifespan and can last over three million clicks. Moreover, it’s storage ready. We are seeing the trend in solar storage and though we have already offered one-stop storage solutions for both retrofitting and newly-built PV systems, our new residential inverter includes this storage ready feature that will help reduce the cost and prepare the system owners for the future of self-consumption and storage.”

For commercial and industrial rooftop solar projects, Qiao strongly recommends MAX 50-80kTL3, “At this fair we are receiving a lot of positive feedback for MAX. Many clients think MAX’s not only cool but have got many features that will suit their projects, such as 6 MPPTs, anti-PID, AFCI etc. What makes it more special is its quad-core architecture. With dual DSP, CPLD and ARM chips, its capability has been greatly enhanced to handle functions like surge protection, I-V curve scan, fault waveform record, one-click diagnosis and so on.”

Growatt has been growing steadily in Europe for the past nine years and with offices established across Europe, new models added into the product lines and more staff joining their team, Qiao is looking to grow their sales substantially in coming years.

Technique Solaire, advised by financial advisor Finergreen, reached financial close in April 2019 for a long-term financing totalling 54 M€ which will go towards the construction of it’s 47 MWp solar portfolio comprising assets which were awarded a tariff mechanism under the government’s so-called “CRE4.2” & “CRE 4.4” tenders.

Hanwha Q CELLS GmbH, the German subsidiary of one of the largest solar cell and module manufacturers in the world, Hanwha Q CELLS Co., Ltd, has received on March 14 a Certisolis carbon footprint certification of 300 kgeq/CO²/kWc in France for its high-efficiency Q.PEAK DUO module series.

This latest certification which follows an earlier CFP certification in January 2019 means that customers in France can now apply for subsidized electricity tariffs

Specifically, Q.PEAK DUO solar modules are certified for installation in projects awarded under the CRE 4.6 tender the sixth rooftop solar tender under the CRE4 framework and also the CRE 4.4 tender, which is the fourth utility solar tender rolled out under the same framework.

Launched by the French government in 2016, the CRE4 framework is a renewable energy support mechanism that is divided into nine different sessions, covering the two-year period between 2017 and 2019. Solar projects that are awarded contracts under these tenders can receive government backed subsidized electricity rates that are higher than typical market prices for electricity.

However, these projects must be built using components that are certified as low-carbon during their production. The official certification from CRE module series has a carbon footprint of 300 kg-eq/C0²/kWc, attained through a 25% recycled poly SI methodology.

Sustained and sustainable solar growth thanks to France continues to enjoy encouraging growth as the country aims to reach its government-mandated solar capacity target of between 18.2 GW and 20.2 GW by 2030. Currently, cumulative solar capacity in France stands at just above 8 GW, according to official Environment Ministry of France data.

In securing another low carbon footprint certification for its Q.PEAK DUO modules, Q CELLS is in a good position to strengthen Head of EU Sales, Maeng Yoon Kim: France should be applauded for its measured and sustainable support of its renewable energy industry, and we are delighted that Q CELLS can continue to participate in this journey with our award-winning, low-carbon Q.PEAK

As it is doing so in many other European markets, Q CELLS is registering increasing market share in France, particularly within the feed-in tariff sector and CRE tender market thanks to the d renowned high standards, which this year have already been recognized with the Top Brand seal awarded by EuPD Research in Europe, including France.

Stephan Maurel, Head of Sales France, added The ongoing transition within France to a more renewables-based electricity system is an excellent incentive for companies like Q CELLS to continue driving high standards in solar technology innovation and low-carbon production. By transitioning its energy sector in the most eco-friendly way possible, we believe that France can become a role-model for the world.
